looming and the first blog giveaway!
as a fiber artist who likes to experiment... i took my little 2 inch loom and cut/ripped strips of fabric to weave. here are my results - a little 2 inch booklet - which needs some additional ephemera, a small house box for treasures, a heart pocket for a sweet note, and a dress-form art quilt - which is still in process. i did sew the little squares with my sewing machine, though i broke a few needles while doing it, so i'm guessing that handstitching is better suited for it, unless you have a heavy-duty machine that can handle thicker fabrics. my favorite is the little house box - which took 9 squares. i preferred handstitching the squares together with a chenille needle and crochet thread.
now i was having so much fun creating these little squares that i thought it would be the perfect first blog drawing and giveaway! i have woven 10 little 2 inch fabric squares for the winner to do their own little wandering with... just post a comment here by Monday FEB 9 MIDNITE... and i will pick a winner on Tuesday and hopefully get the squares to the winner by valentine's day! ;) happy day!!
I love seeing what's next with you! Congrats on the QA entry!

I love all the colors you used. How clever these are! I like the heart but all are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThis is so neat. Memories of my childhood looms (sorry could not resist) .
