summer reading...

just finished an excellent novel by Barbara Kingsolver - Animal Dreams... it is a little dated (set in the 80's) but it is still a beautiful, moving story... this is the 3rd book i've read of Barbara Kingsolver - "The Bean Trees" is also excellent, as well as "Pigs in Heaven".



a technique book that i recently purchased and am loving every inch of is Drawing Lab for Mixed-Media Artists by Carla Sonheim. i had taken a college drawing class before and was bored out of my mind with it - drawing all the still life objects of cylinders and cubes... but this book got me back in the game. and tho i am much more sculptural in my work, i believe drawing is a fabulous foundation for any artwork pursued. ;)
