always.comfort
i made some comfort.rag.dolls for friends suffering a loss... they were inspired by artist Dr.FrankyDolan's article in Art Doll Quarterly Spring 2013.
i'm hoping they will bring some kind of comfort. this is unlike a wrap or a blanket. more of a contemplative piece. more of a smaller, heart-in-your-hand type of tangible.
i am prayerful.
i wrote special, comforting quotes from the Word on their body under the layered garments. it was a soothing, solemn creation for me. i was grateful that my faces turned out well on the first go. it is a gift being given 5 months after the sadness occurred. but sadness takes a long time to smooth out. so the longing to create them emerged finally and i followed..
