adventures in hypertufa..

for mom's day over a week ago.. i wrangled my family into making hypertufa pots for section in our backyard that needed much sprucing and love..

you can google a handful of links on how to make them - it is a bit labor-intensive if you do it the way we did it.. which was with real concrete mix and shovels.. :P

but i am so thrilled with the results..

mix cautiously.. lots of dust..

they say to mix it till it has the consistency of cottage-cheese.. 

we used sand as a mold.. since i wanted a very textural, organic look..

it took about a week to cure... covered in plastic.
